Following the first look posters of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, the makers of Love & War have unveiled Vicky Kaushal’s first look from the upcoming film. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the period romantic drama is scheduled to release in theatres worldwide on January 21, 2027. The film marks Bhansali’s first directorial venture since Gangubai Kathiawadi.
The newly released poster shows Vicky holding a silver Zippo style lighter in his right hand as he lights a cigarette. Smoke surrounds his face as he looks directly at the camera with a serious expression. He sports a thick moustache and a visible mark on his forehead. A gold ring on his right hand and a dark collared shirt complete his rugged appearance.
The makers shared the poster with the caption, “Nazre milengi, lekin hatengi nahin! 🧿Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War on 21st January 2027 ❤️ See you at the movies! 🎬 #LoveAndWar.”
Earlier, the first look posters of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt offered glimpses of their characters. Ranbir is seen driving a vintage car in a white T shirt and glasses, with a short buzz cut. His bruised and bloodied hand gripping the steering wheel hints at a possible conflict in his character’s life.
Alia appears in a magenta red outfit with an elaborate headpiece, resembling a cabaret performer. Her crop top and thigh high slit skirt suggest a dance setting, although the poster does not reveal much about her character.
Love & War brings Ranbir, Alia and Vicky together for the first time in a film directed by Bhansali. Ranbir reunites with the filmmaker nearly two decades after his acting debut in Saawariya (2007). Bhansali previously directed Alia in Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022). Ranbir and Vicky shared the screen in Sanju (2018), while Alia and Vicky appeared together in Raazi (2018).
Written by Bhansali and Ila Bedi Dutta, the film also features Supriya Pathak in a key role. Reports suggest that the story is set against a war backdrop, with Ranbir and Vicky playing Indian Air Force officers whose lives become connected through Alia’s character. The film will release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
