Veteran actress Suchitra Sen passed away on Friday morning following a massive cardiac arrest. She was 82. Her condition had deteriorated in the last 24 hours, following breathing difficulties.

The yesteryear actress, who was admitted to Kolkata’s Belle Vue clinic on December 23 after being diagnosed with respiratory tract infection, is survived by her daughter Munmun Sen and grand-daughters Riya and Raima Sen.

The actress is remembered for some of her stellar performances in films like DEVDAS and AANDHI in Hindi and SAAT PAAKE BANDHA, AGNIPARIKSHA, SAPTAPADI and DEEP JWELE JAI in Bengali.
