Always Lalisa Trailer reveals LISA’s journey beyond Blackpink in an intimate new documentary

Always Lalisa follows LISA through a major year as she launches her solo career, acts in The White Lotus and prepares for her first major solo Coachella show.

Always Lalisa is a feature length documentary that follows global star LISA during an important year in her career. The film focuses on the period when Blackpink paused group activities and LISA began exploring her identity as a solo artist. It looks at how she handled the challenges of building a career outside the group that helped make her one of the most recognised performers in the world.

The documentary follows LISA as she works on her debut solo album, Alter Ego. It shows the process of writing, recording and releasing the album while she takes steps to establish herself independently in the music industry. The film also covers another major milestone as LISA makes her acting debut in the third season of The White Lotus.

Another important part of the documentary is LISA’s preparation for her first major solo performance at the 2025 Coachella Music Festival. The performance becomes part of a larger journey as she adjusts to the responsibilities and pressure that come with performing and working without the support of her group.

Born and raised in Thailand, LISA left home at fourteen to train in South Korea. She went through the highly demanding K pop training system before eventually becoming an international star as a member of Blackpink. Always Lalisa looks back at that journey while also focusing on the person she is becoming as she moves into a new stage of her career.

The documentary also explores the difficulties that come with creating a solo identity, particularly while entering the Western music market. LISA faces increased attention, public expectations and constant scrutiny as she works to establish her own artistic direction.

At its core, Always Lalisa is about change and self discovery. It documents a period when LISA is balancing her past with her ambitions for the future. The film gives viewers a closer look at the professional decisions and personal challenges that come with taking a new direction after years as part of one of the world’s biggest K pop groups.

Always Lalisa will be released in cinemas and IMAX worldwide on October 12. The documentary offers a look at LISA’s transition from Blackpink member to solo performer, recording artist and actor.
