The anticipation for Season 2 of “Pachinko” has reached new heights with the release of its official trailer, which features BLACKPINK’s Rosé covering “Viva La Vida”. The series, based on Min Jin Lee’s best-selling novel, spans multiple generations and countries, including Korea, Japan, and the United States, exploring themes of war, peace, love, and judgment.
The upcoming season introduces new cast member Kim Sung Kyu, who joins the star-studded lineup featuring Youn Yuh Jung, Lee Min Ho, and Kim Min Ha. Set against the dramatic backdrop of 1945 Osaka during World War II, the trailer teases the reunion of Sunja (played by Kim Min Ha) and Hansu (played by Lee Min Ho). It also highlights the struggle of Sunja as she makes dangerous choices to protect her family.
Additionally, the storyline extends to 1989 Tokyo, where Solomon (played by Jin Ha) must rebuild his life from scratch, and the older Sunja (played by Youn Yuh Jung) grapples with concerns about her grandson.
