Blake Lively’s legal battle with Justin Baldoni continues to unfold, with a recent court ruling denying her request for Baldoni’s phone records. Lively had subpoenaed these records as part of her ongoing legal dispute, which revolves around accusations that Baldoni orchestrated a smear campaign against her following her sexual harassment claims on the set of It Ends With Us.
Court Rules Phone Records Request “Overly Intrusive”
On Friday, Judge Lewis Liman ruled that Lively’s request for Baldoni’s phone records was too broad and posed privacy concerns. Despite narrowing the request to exclude the content of calls and messages, the judge expressed that the records could still reveal sensitive information, such as interactions with medical professionals or acquaintances. The ruling was seen as a significant win for Baldoni, with his attorney, Bryan Freedman, claiming that the subpoena was a “desperate fishing expedition.”

Lively’s Team Pushes Back
While Lively’s request for Baldoni’s phone records was denied, the judge allowed her to pursue similar information from other individuals potentially involved in the alleged smear campaign. Lively’s legal team has expressed dissatisfaction with the decision, questioning why Baldoni and his team are attempting to keep certain information private. A spokesperson for Lively asked, “What is Bryan Freedman hiding?”
The actress’s team plans to submit more specific requests for phone records directly from individuals involved in the case. Despite this setback, Lively’s legal team remains determined to gather the evidence they believe is necessary to support her claims.

The Ongoing Legal Dispute
The legal conflict between Lively and Baldoni began in January when Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment on the set of It Ends With Us. Baldoni has since filed a countersuit, denying the accusations and claiming that Lively’s actions are an attempt to repair her own reputation. The case is still ongoing, with both parties continuing to push their respective legal battles.
