Joker: Folie a Deux receives standing ovation at Venice International Film Festival

Joker: Folie a Deux, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2019 Joker, made a grand debut at the 81st Venice International Film Festival, receiving an impressive 11-minute standing ovation at its premiere. Directed by Todd Phillips and starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, the film, a musical psychological thriller, left the audience at the Sala Grande cheering, with many chanting “Ga-ga, Ga-ga!” in honor of Lady Gaga. Despite the overwhelming response from the crowd, early reviews of the film have been more tempered, reflecting mixed reactions from critics.

Lady Gaga’s appearance at the festival drew even more attention as she officially announced her engagement to Michael Polanski.
