The 2025 Oscars came with some memories that will never be forgotten, but one that has been going viral on social media is the night’s host, Conan O’Brien. Famous for his clever sense of humor and timing, O’Brien caught people off guard by welcoming the audience in Hindi for the very first time on stage. However, his effort at using the language left everyone in stitches as he struggled to pronounce the phrase. “Greetings to India. It is morning there now, so you people must be having your Oscar and breakfast with that,” he declared, literally interpreting the saying, “Mummy kee haath kayo nayeey Oscar ko roti do”.

Though Conan’s attempt was truly sincere, soon enough, the video took over social media as people watched in amusement. Several of the users noted that he had “butchered” the language, and some humorously commended him on his noble effort. One read, “Conan O’Brien should get an Oscar for best effort at a foreign language! Good job, though the Hindi was certainly Hinding!

” Another joked, “Conan O’Brien butchered Hindi so badly, I became a nationalist.”

Oscars 2025 Highlights Notwithstanding Conan’s Hindi faux pas, the remainder of the Oscars 2025 ceremony proceeded without a hitch, and the night was filled with blockbuster wins. Kieran Culkin received Best Actor in a Supporting Role for The Real Pain, and Zoe Saldaña won Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Emilia Pérez. Wicked won the Best Costume award, and Anor won the Best Original Screenplay award.

Apart from that, Conclave won the Best Adapted Screenplay award. While Conan’s Hindi flop might have hogged the limelight, the Oscars 2025 were an evening to remember for more than one reason, ranging from moving speeches to major accolades in the film industry.
