Salma Hayek has once again shown that confidence does not come with an age limit. The actress celebrated her 60th birthday in a bold and playful way by sharing photos from an ocean getaway on Instagram. Hayek, whose birthday was on September 2, posted a series of pictures showing herself enjoying the water without clothes. In one photo, she appeared to be relaxing and rolling around in the ocean, while another picture showed her posing with her back toward the camera as she played with her hair. She captioned the post, “60 and grateful,” marking the milestone with a message of appreciation.
The photos quickly attracted attention from fans, who flooded the comments with compliments for the actress. Many praised Hayek for looking confident and beautiful at 60. One fan wrote, “60 yet ageless … Father Time must be smitten with you 😊.” Another admirer celebrated her career and personality, writing, “60 years of sweetness, talent, grace, and a beauty that shines from the inside out,” before adding, “60 years of making the world feel a little brighter just by being in it ❤️ .”
Hayek has never been shy about sharing pictures from her beach holidays. She often posts photos in swimsuits and has previously celebrated her birthdays while enjoying time near the sea. Last year, when she turned 59, the actress shared a picture of herself wearing a red two piece swimsuit while relaxing on a yacht. She was also seen holding what appeared to be a cocktail. “59 trips around the sun and still dancing,” she wrote at the time.
The actress also achieved another major milestone last year when she appeared on the cover of the 2025 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Hayek looked stunning in a green bikini during the poolside photoshoot. Reflecting on the opportunity, she said, “I remember when I was young, a long, long time ago, I was always excited to see the Swimsuit Issue of Sports Illustrated, and [thinking] ‘Who’s going to be in it?’ Of course, I didn’t look like a model, so it never crossed my mind that one day I would be in it.”
She added, “If somebody had told me I was gonna be in it at 58, I would have sent them to the madhouse, but the world has changed, and that’s exciting.”
Hayek has also spoken openly about growing older and how she views beauty. In an interview with People in April 2025, she said she was not trying to look younger but wanted to look good for her age. “I just want my husband to still go, ‘Wow’ when he looks at me,” she explained while talking about her husband, François Henri Pinault.
“I still want to feel good about the way I look, but not necessarily because I want to look 20. I’m okay. I’m more excited about being 50 and 60 and looking good at 50 and 60. It’s a different kind of beauty.”
The actress has also previously credited meditation for helping her maintain her youthful appearance.
