Maisie Williams is bringing a touch of 90s nostalgia to the promotional tour of Practical Magic 2. The actor, who plays Sandra Bullock’s daughter in the upcoming witch themed sequel, recently surprised fans by recreating two of Bullock’s memorable red carpet looks from the past.
Williams made the fashion tribute during the European premiere of Practical Magic 2 on August 26. For the event, she wore a custom red outfit designed by British designer Ellie Misner. The dress featured a sleeveless corset style top with a boat neckline and a satin skirt that wrapped around her waist before flowing into a long train.
The outfit was inspired by a look Bullock wore at the 1999 premiere of Forces of Nature. Bullock’s original outfit included a boat neck top that showed her midriff and a satin wrap style skirt. While Williams clearly took inspiration from the Hollywood star, she gave the outfit a more modern feel with the help of her stylist Dino Bonacic.
Instead of wearing the pink layered choker that Bullock had paired with her original look, Williams chose a striking rubellite Bulgari high jewelry necklace. The red gemstone added a glamorous touch and matched the color of her outfit.
Interestingly, Williams did not choose a look from the original Practical Magic, which was released in 1998. Instead, she picked an outfit from a romantic comedy that Bullock made just one year later. However, the deep red color of the dress seemed to fit perfectly with the dark and magical world of Practical Magic 2.
Williams continued the tribute the following day. On Thursday, the four main stars of the sequel, including Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman and Joey King, came together for another promotional photocall.
For the occasion, Williams wore another outfit inspired by Bullock. This time, she recreated a black dress that Bullock wore to the premiere of Infamous around two decades ago. The dress featured unusual asymmetric straps and a gathered skirt.
Williams once again added her own personality to the look. She accessorized the black dress with several brooches and necklaces. She also carried a small chain coin purse that hung from her hand, giving the classic outfit a playful modern touch.

The fashion choices have quickly become a fun part of the Practical Magic 2 promotions. Since Williams and Bullock play mother and daughter in the film, her decision to revisit Bullock’s old red carpet style feels like a clever tribute to her on screen mother.
With more promotional events expected before the film’s release, fans may see Williams recreate even more of Bullock’s memorable fashion moments. Possible inspirations include Bullock’s white Oscar de la Renta gown from the 2004 Academy Awards or her raspberry colored Alberta Ferretti dress from the 2007 Met Gala.
