Gigi Hadid stole the show at the 2025 Met Gala, marking her much-awaited red carpet comeback in a breathtaking gold Miu Miu halter dress. Hosted at the legendary Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, the theme of this year’s Met Gala, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, honored Black designers and their cultural significance. Hadid’s Grecian-style ensemble not only served to reflect the luxury of the occasion but paid tribute to one of the greatest trailblazers in American fashion history Zelda Wynn Valdes.
A Nod to a Trailblazer
Talking to E! News, Hadid continued about the idea behind her attire. “It’s a tribute to Zelda Wynn Valdes, everybody go check her out,” she declared. “She was a terrific dressmaker and she created some very special dresses in the late 40s, apprenticing under her uncle in his gentlemen’s tailoring business, and she took all of those codes and abilities and really blended them together in ways in order to allow people to express themselves via what she was creating.”
The supermodel highlighted the value of acknowledging fashion trailblazers such as Valdes, stating, “Anyone who contributed to us reaching where we are in 2025 and all of the styles you express yourself with are welcomed, we need to discuss. So this one’s for her hope she’ll love it.”
Romance on the Rise: Gigi and Bradley Go Public
Hadid’s Met Gala look also constituted her first red carpet appearance after confirming her relationship with actor Bradley Cooper. The couple had announced their romance on Instagram just a few weeks before, charming fans with a tender photo posted on Hadid’s 30th birthday.
On May 4, Gigi posted a birthday carousel on Instagram, showcasing warm family moments and a photo-stealing kiss with Cooper in front of a three-tiered chocolate cake. Hadid, wearing casual attire in a white tank top and sharp black leather pants, was stunning. The post also featured a few rare shots of her 4-year-old daughter, Khai Malik, whom she shares with ex-boyfriend and singer Zayn Malik.

Bradley Cooper, with whom he has 8-year-old daughter Lea De Seine with former flame Irina Shayk, has been romantically connected to Hadid since late 2023.
