Nicole Kidman brought a magical and dramatic style to the Los Angeles premiere of Practical Magic 2 on Monday night. The actress made a major fashion statement as she arrived at the event in the first Atelier Versace design created by Pieter Mulier. Her bold black look perfectly matched the supernatural theme of the upcoming film and quickly became one of the highlights of the premiere.
Kidman wore a black lace gown featuring a low cut top and an uneven skirt that showed off her legs. The dress had a thigh high opening on one side, giving the outfit a glamorous and daring touch. She completed the look with black lace Manolo Blahnik pumps and a matching choker necklace. Parure Atelier earrings added some sparkle, while her hair was styled with a dramatic side part and soft waves that added to the mysterious feel of the outfit.

The gown also offered a first glimpse of what fashion fans can expect from Pieter Mulier at Versace. Mulier was named the Italian fashion house’s creative director in February after previously leading Alaïa. He officially began his new role at Versace on July 1. His first runway collection for the brand is not expected until 2027, making Kidman’s premiere look an early preview of his direction for the fashion house.
Kidman’s Los Angeles outfit was very different from the look she chose for the London premiere of Practical Magic 2 last week. There, she wore a custom sea foam green sequined Chanel gown. The strapless design featured strands of pearl chains that fell across her bodice and shoulders, creating a softer and more elegant look.
Sandra Bullock also embraced the dark and mysterious theme at the Los Angeles premiere. The actress wore a custom Louis Vuitton black velvet dress with a plunging neckline and a large collar. Her look followed the asymmetrical leopard print Givenchy outfit she wore for the London premiere.
Bullock also revealed an interesting detail about the upcoming sequel. During the film’s promotional events, she shared that her two children, son Louis, 16, and daughter Laila, 12, make a surprise appearance in Practical Magic 2. She teased that “they’re in the movie, but not in an obvious way to you,” and said that they do not even know where they appear in the film.
In the movie, Joey King and Maisie Williams play Bullock’s on screen children. Williams, known for Game of Thrones, has also paid tribute to Bullock during the promotional tour by recreating one of her earlier looks and wearing another outfit borrowed from the actress’s wardrobe.
With Practical Magic 2 arriving in theatres on Sept. 10, fans can expect more magical fashion moments from the film’s leading stars as the release date approaches.
