Taylor Swift has once again sparked speculation among fans about the possible release of Taylor Swift (Taylor’s Version). The singer’s recent appearance at an intimate Recording Academy event has led fans to believe that the rerecorded version of her debut album could be announced soon.
On Monday, the Grammy Museum shared the full footage of “The Icon Sessions with Taylor Swift: A 20 Year Retrospective.” The event was hosted by the Recording Academy’s Songwriters & Composers Wing on Aug. 18 and featured a conversation with Swift about her career and songwriting, along with an acoustic performance.
For the event, Swift wore a green dress with cascading ruffles and a floral corsage placed on one shoulder. The colour and overall design immediately reminded many fans of the style associated with her 2006 self titled debut album, Taylor Swift. The album introduced songs such as “Our Song,” “Tim McGraw” and “Teardrops On My Guitar.”
Swifties quickly took to social media to discuss the outfit and its possible connection to the album. “That’s the most debut dress to ever debut,” one fan posted on X. Another wrote, “The dress is definitely debut green.”
A third fan added, “Green dress? Debut TV [Taylor’s Version] is around the corner guys,”
The speculation comes as the 20th anniversary of Taylor Swift approaches on Oct. 24. Fans have been waiting for the rerecorded album as part of Swift’s ongoing Taylor’s Version project.

Swift previously confirmed that the rerecording has already been completed. In a May 2025 letter announcing that she had acquired the master recordings of her first six albums, the singer revealed, “I’ve already rerecorded my entire debut album. And I really love how it sounds now,”
However, Swift has not officially announced a release date for Taylor Swift (Taylor’s Version). Her green outfit may simply have been a reference to her early country music era, but fans are now watching closely for any official announcement as the album’s 20th anniversary gets closer.
