Timothée Chalamet made a heartwarming surprise visit to his alma mater, Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School in New York, on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. The A Complete Unknown star, who graduated in 2013, delighted students by offering career advice and sharing personal experiences. The school’s Instagram page posted several photos showing Timothée reuniting with former teachers and posing with excited students. They captioned, “When you have a guest speaker for your Career Management class… and Timothée Chalamet walks in the room… you know it’s going to be a great day.”
A Special Connection with LaGuardia
The 29-year-old actor has often credited LaGuardia for shaping his identity. Speaking to Anderson Cooper on 60 Minutes earlier this year, Timothée said, “LaGuardia totally shaped who I am and who I was. I just felt like I could be however I wanted to be.” He even discussed his A Complete Unknown script with his former drama teacher, Harry Shifman, reflecting on how much the school influenced his career path. Shifman praised the Wonka actor’s “beautiful gifts” and “kind heart,” admiring his dedication and talent.
Throwback to the Lookalike Contest Incident
Last October, Timothée stirred excitement by showing up unexpectedly at a Timothée Chalamet lookalike competition in Washington Square Park. However, the event ended abruptly when police intervened, arresting four attendees for participating without a permit. Event organizer Anthony Po was fined $500, and although Timothée’s team kindly offered to pay the fine, Anthony declined, with the platform Partiful stepping in to cover the cost. Amusingly, the real Timothée didn’t even place in the top 10 lookalikes. Anthony joked, “If he had stayed until the end, maybe I would’ve given him runner-up.”
