Ammy Virk’s convoy reportedly targeted in shooting after Canada concert

Ammy Virk was reportedly caught up in a shooting incident in Canada after his Abbotsford concert, with police investigating and no injuries reported.

Punjabi singer and actor Ammy Virk was reportedly caught up in a shooting incident in Canada shortly after performing at a concert in Abbotsford, British Columbia, on Saturday, September 5. According to reports, a vehicle connected to the singer’s convoy was targeted in what police are investigating as a potentially targeted shooting. No injuries have been reported so far.

According to Voice Online, police said a vehicle travelling in the 2500 block of McCallum Road was fired upon by people inside a dark coloured SUV. Multiple shots were reportedly fired at the vehicle before the attackers left the area.

Several reports have claimed that around seven gunshots were fired at the vehicle in which Ammy Virk was travelling. The vehicle has been identified in reports as a Rolls Royce Cullinan and was reportedly bulletproof. Reports further stated that all four people inside the vehicle escaped without injuries.

However, there has been some conflicting information surrounding the incident. A report by Babushahi Network claimed that Ammy Virk’s father, Kuljit Singh, denied reports that the singer had been involved in the shooting.

The reported incident also comes in the context of Virk’s earlier comments about the security concerns faced by Punjabi artists and their families. In an interview with CNN News18, the singer and actor explained why many artists choose to keep their families away from public attention.

“We are in such a profession where we not only have fans but there might be some other issues too, maybe there is some enmity. Families must not suffer. For now, they can go to the market or wherever, nobody cares. If people get to know, they might be targeted. This is for their security and this is their own will as well,” the Punjabi singer actor added.

Ammy Virk is known for his work in both the Punjabi and Hindi entertainment industries. As a singer, he has delivered popular songs including ‘Qismat’ and ‘Darya’. He made his Hindi film debut with ‘Bhuj: The Pride of India’ and later appeared in ’83’, ‘Bad Newz’ and ‘Khel Khel Mein’. He was most recently seen in Godday Cha 2.
