BLACKPINK’s LISA has announced her new solo single titled “Rockstar” through a simple post on her Instagram Story on Tuesday, June 18. The post featured a sleek graphic with the track’s title and confirmed its release date as June 27 at 8 p.m. ET.
LISA, who began teasing “Rockstar” earlier in June, launched her TikTok account with a post that seemed to include a snippet of the new single. Her initial TikTok video set a Guinness World Record by gaining a million followers in just two hours and 18 minutes.
She later posted another TikTok video with a second snippet, where she can be heard saying, “Baby, I’m a rock star.” This new song marks LISA’s first release since signing with RCA Records, a move that is part of her upcoming solo era.
Previously, LISA released the singles “Lalisa” and “Money” under YG Entertainment and Interscope Records, with “Money” becoming the first solo K-pop hit to surpass a billion streams on Spotify in 2023.
