Miley is entering a new phase of her music career and is now simply going by Miley. The singer has released a new song titled ‘Bass Persuades’, which is also the title track of her upcoming album. The track arrived this morning and gives listeners the first look at what they can expect from the new record.
The album, ‘Bass Persuades’, is scheduled to be released on 18 September. It will be the tenth album of Miley’s career and her first full length project with her new label, Atlantic Records. The new song also brings together several writers and producers who have worked with Miley before.
Miley collaborated on the track with Kid Harpoon, Michael Pollack and Aldae. The three have also worked with her on ‘Flowers’, one of her major recent hits. Kid Harpoon has also recently worked with Harry Styles on some of his latest music.
Miley has explained that music itself is at the heart of the album’s title and meaning.
“Music takes hold of us,” Miley said of the album’s meaning.
“We feel it, sing it, sometimes dance to it, let it out and carry on. It is powerful, vulnerable, sweet and strong. Heart full, heartache, every part of life in between. That’s what the title means to me.
“Thank you for being a part of making my wildest dreams come true. I sincerely hope you love this album.”
The new album comes only 16 months after Miley’s previous record, ‘Something Beautiful’. That album reached the Top 10 in the UK, the US and Australia, marking another strong phase in her career.
The ‘Bass Persuades’ music video takes a more visual and performance focused approach. It features Miley entering a leather bar filled with hunky fellas, with choreography created by Sergio Reis. He is known for creating the distinctive dance routines featured in music videos by Troye Sivan.
With ‘Bass Persuades’, Miley is beginning another chapter while also moving into her tenth album era.
