Housefull 5’s Box Office Numbers Take a Hit! Akshay Kumar’s Movie Loses Steam on Day 8

Akshay Kumar starrer multi-starrer comedy murder mystery Housefull 5 seems to be losing steam at the box office. While the film had a good opening weekend, the collections of the film have slowly been on the decline, particularly on weekdays. Industry monitor Sacnilk reports that the film dipped 13.29% on Day 8 (Friday) with a collection of ₹6.07 crore net.

Strong Opening, Slower Second Week Start
Directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, Housefull 5 grossed ₹127.25 crore net in its opening week in India. But with the addition of Day 8 earnings, the domestic collection is at ₹133.32 crore net now. The film saw big numbers at the beginning, and since Wednesday, June 12, it has been registering single-digit collections.

Worldwide Earnings Near ₹200 Crore
At the international level, Housefull 5 continues to excel. According to reports, the film collected ₹191.73 crore internationally in the first week. Of this amount, ₹43.50 crore came from international markets, and domestic gross was ₹142.5 crore. At the end of Week 1, the worldwide total gross was ₹186 crore.

Occupancy and Industry Outlook
Day 8 saw a Hindi occupancy level of 11.71%, which is showing slipping audience attendance. Nevertheless, Taran Adarsh, a film trade expert, has reason to hope that the dearth of big new releases might allow Housefull 5 to recover at the weekend.

Star-Studded Cast
The fifth of the popular Housefull series has a star-studded cast that includes Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Shreyas Talpade, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, and more.

Though the pace of the film has slowed, the weekend performance will be important in ascertaining if it is able to maintain its box office run.
