Jaat’s arrival impacts Sikandar: Salman Khan’s movie sees a sharp decline on day 12- Is this the end?

Released on March 30, Sikandar has been running in theatres for over 10 days, but the mass action drama has struggled to maintain its momentum. Starring Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna as an on-screen couple, the film was expected to make a big splash at the box office. However, its performance has been underwhelming, especially after the release of Sunny Deol’s Jaat on its 12th day.

Box Office Collections See a Decline

Directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Salman Khan Films and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, Sikandar has seen a steady drop in collections. After earning ₹1.2 crore net on its second Wednesday, the film is projected to earn only ₹60 lakh on its second Thursday, according to early trends. In 11 days, the film has collected ₹98 crore net in India and is inching toward the ₹100 crore mark — a milestone it’s expected to cross during the upcoming weekend.

Fails to Match Salman Khan’s Previous Eid Releases

Despite the star power of Salman Khan, the film appears likely to wrap up its theatrical run below ₹100 crore, putting it behind his 2023 Eid release, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, which ended its run with ₹101.50 crore net. Poor word of mouth regarding the film’s narrative has played a significant role in its underperformance, along with stiff competition from Jaat, which continues to capture more screens and audience attention.

Supporting Cast and Production

Sikandar also stars Sharman Joshi, Kajal Aggarwal, and Prateik Babbar in pivotal roles. While it had the potential to enter the ₹200 crore club, the lack of strong content and audience buzz has led the film to a disappointing box office journey.
