Following the blockbuster success of Gadar 2 in 2023, Sunny Deol is back on the big screen with Jaat, which has fans and film buffs excited. Helmed by popular Telugu director Gopichand Malineni, the film combines the brutal intensity of South Indian cinema with the narrative artistry of Bollywood, promising an action-packed high-octane drama.
Story Set in Coastal Andhra Pradesh
Jaat is set in the scenic coastal town of Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh. Bhaskar Singh “Jaat” is played by Sunny Deol, a resolute man who is pitted against a local ruler, Ranatunga, played by Randeep Hooda. As Jaat struggles to free the villagers from oppression, the movie progresses towards an action-packed climax replete with suspense, emotion, and determination.
A Star-Studded Cast
Adding depth to the story is a dynamic support cast. The female lead is played by Regina Cassandra, in addition to turns by Vineet Kumar Singh, Saiyami Kher, Ramya Krishnan, and Jagapathi Babu. Their strong on-screen presence assist in creating an engaging and emotive narrative which appeals to broad audiences.

Box Office Performance
In spite of a good opening weekend, Jaat experienced a significant decline in collections. As per a Sacnilk report, the movie made just Rs 7.5 crores in its opening Monday, down by more than 46%. This took its five-day tally to Rs 47.75 crores. Since the first Tuesday is a working day, another minor fall is anticipated. Industry estimates expect a day-six collection of Rs 6–7 crores, which will take Jaat over the Rs 50 crore mark.
With its compelling narrative and outstanding performances, Jaat is a movie worth watching, both for its on-screen appeal and box office trajectory.
