The latest in Rohit Shetty’s Cop Universe, Singham Again opened to a sensational weekend. It started off with a bang on day one, raking in ₹43.50 crore, and saw small drops over the next two days, but the Ajay Devgn starrer still finished the weekend with a healthy ₹121-crore domestic net total. Singham Again grossed ₹86 crore net in India in two days. As per the latest update from Sacnilk, action saga raked in ₹35 crore net in the domestic market on day 3, taking the film into the 100-crore club and its overall collection to a massive ₹121 crore. Singham Again saw collections on Sunday fall by approximately 17% from its Saturday bounties. However, several trade analysts have explained the development, taking into account Bhai Dooj festivities on the day in many parts of India.
The third part in the series with the series leader being Ajay Devgn as Singham is Singham Again. This film also goes under the Cop Universe series that has been put out by Shetty along with films Simmba and Sooryavanshi respectively by Ranveer Singh and Akshay Kumar. Ajay again makes his presence felt along with the appearance of cameo performances from Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh while Deepika Padukone and Tiger Shroff join him in playing entirely new characters. Kareena Kapoor features with Arjun Kapoor and Salman Khan gives cameo.
After this strong weekend, Singham Again is likely to consolidate over the weekdays. With both the weekend and festival coming to an end, Monday would be an important test for the lifetime performance of the film. Trade analysts’ estimates claim that Singham Again should easily breach ₹300 crore, but anything above that will be a weekday hold after the Diwali weekend.
