Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, starring Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri, has managed to perform steadily at the box office, despite a gradual decline in earnings over the past few days. The film, made on an estimated budget of ₹25.26 crore, earned ₹25.11 crore net during its six-day run, coming close to breaking even. On its sixth day, the film collected ₹1.81 crore net with a 9.74% Hindi occupancy rate, according to Sacnilk, showing a 13.81% decline from the previous day.
Released on October 11 alongside Alia Bhatt’s Jigra, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video has consistently outperformed its competitor. While Jigra earned ₹1.25 crore on Wednesday, Vicky Vidya maintained a lead despite its own drop in collections.
The film opened to ₹5.5 crore net in India on its release day and saw a rise to ₹6.9 crore on the second day. However, by Sunday, it had collected ₹6.4 crore, slightly down from the previous day’s earnings, bringing its weekend total to ₹13.3 crore.
Controversy surrounded the film due to the unauthorised use of characters and dialogue from the Stree franchise, owned by Maddock Films. Director Raaj Shaandilyaa issued an apology on X (formerly Twitter), acknowledging the mistake on behalf of himself and the production companies involved.
The film, set against the scenic backdrop of Rishikesh, follows the humorous quest of Vicky (Rajkummar Rao) and Vidya (Triptii Dimri) as they search for a missing “suhagraat CD,” offering plenty of laughs along the way. Despite the controversies and slight dips in box office numbers, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video continues to maintain a decent performance.
