Barroz flops big time! Mohanlal’s film fails to impress audiences, Day 8 collections are a huge disappointment

The movie Barroz, starring Mohanlal and marking his directorial debut, had high expectations when it was released during the Christmas season. However, its box office performance has been disappointing so far. Here’s a breakdown of its performance:

8th Day Performance: On its 8th day, Barroz witnessed a 50% growth compared to the previous day, earning 42 lakhs, up from 28 lakhs on the 7th day. While the growth is notable, the total earnings are still very modest, especially given the context of the movie’s massive budget.

Total Earnings: As of now, the movie’s total India net collection stands at 9.8 crore. Considering the film’s budget is reportedly around 80 crore, it is clear that the film is struggling to even recover its production costs. The numbers are well below expectations.

Competition: The movie is facing stiff competition from other South Indian releases, such as UI, Marco, and Viduthalai Part 2. These films are also drawing audiences away, further contributing to the struggles of Barroz at the box office.

Word of Mouth: One of the significant factors contributing to the film’s underperformance is the lack of positive word of mouth. The film has not been generating the kind of buzz that could drive sustained audience interest, which is crucial for its commercial success.

Cast and Crew: Besides Mohanlal, the film also stars Maya Rao West, Tuhin Menon, Ignacio Mateos, and Gopalan Adat in key roles. The movie is produced by Anthony Perumbavoor, with music composed by Lydian Nadhaswaram, Fernando Guerreiro, Miguel Guerreiro, and Mark Killian. The film is based on the novel Barroz: Guardian Of D’Gama’s Treasure by Jijo Punnoose.
