Breaking down the pre-sales figures:
The Tamil 2D version brought in ₹42.75 lakh, while the 3D version earned ₹1.08 crore.
The Telugu 2D and 3D versions collected ₹38.32 lakh and ₹20.37 lakh, respectively.
The Hindi versions in 2D and 3D contributed ₹3.18 lakh and ₹7.26 lakh.
By region, Tamil Nadu has led with ₹78.31 lakh in bookings, followed by Kerala at ₹43.59 lakh. This impressive start puts Kanguva on track to potentially surpass the advance booking record of Suriya’s previous film, Etharkkum Thunindhavan, which had a ₹4.35 crore advance gross.
With Suriya in dual roles as a historical warrior named Kanguva and a modern character named Francis Theodore, Kanguva promises an intriguing storyline with elements of resurrection. Bobby Deol will portray Udhiran, a warrior, while Disha Patani stars as Angelina, Francis’ love interest.
As Kanguva releases in multiple formats (2D and 3D) and languages (Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi), fans are eagerly awaiting how it performs, especially since it will compete with the box-office success of *Amaran* starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi.
