Suriya’s action-adventure film Kanguva has entered its second weekend at the box office but has struggled to meet expectations. The movie collected ₹64.40 crore nett in India in its first week, with a modest ₹2 crore nett on its second Thursday, according to trade reports by Sacnilk.

Despite a strong opening day of ₹24 crore, the film’s collections dropped significantly over the weekend and weekdays, stabilizing in the range of ₹2-3.5 crore nett per day. Kanguva faced stiff competition from Sivakarthikeyan’s Amaran, which continues its successful run in theatres, contrary to earlier predictions that Kanguva might dominate.
The film received mixed reviews, with many citing audio issues as a deterrent for theatre-goers. While it remains in cinemas, its box office performance is expected to further decline when Pushpa 2: The Rule releases on December 5, a film anticipated to have a strong opening.
Kanguva will need a significant push from late audiences or international markets to recover its footing in the coming weeks.
