Kuberaa, which is Sekhar Kammula’s directorial venture featuring Dhanush, Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh, and others, has been released to a respectable Rs. 13.25 crore gross in India on day one. In spite of lackluster advance bookings, particularly unexpected in light of Dhanush’s pan-India popularity, the movie saw a significant boost in ticket sales on day one, greatly driven by extremely positive word of mouth.
Audiences and critics have appreciated the movie for its tight script, strong performances particularly by Dhanush and technical competence. Nagarjuna and Rashmika Mandanna’s supporting performances have also been appreciated greatly.
Regional Breakdown and Reception
The Telugu language version spearheaded the charge with a whopping Rs. 8 crore, followed by the Tamil version, which added a robust Rs. 5 crore. The Hindi version, though, fell short with merely Rs. 25 lakh. In spite of that, the opening figure almost doubled the industry expectations, highlighting the effect of renewed audience acceptance.

Big-Budget Stakes and Promising Outlook
Kuberaa is Dhanush’s most ambitious and costly project, with an initial budget of Rs. 100 crore, which eventually swelled to Rs. 120 crore in production expense. Added to this is Rs. 10 crore for print and advertising, making the overall cost Rs. 130 crore. Happily, the producers have already recovered Rs. 85 crore from non-theatrical rights (digital and satellite included).
