Get ready for a massive opening! Good Bad Ugly Advance sales start April 4 – Ajith Fans, rejoice

Ajith Kumar is getting ready for the release of his action movie Good Bad Ugly, which is scheduled to arrive in theaters on April 10. Directed by Adhik Ravichandran and featuring Mythri Movie Makers, the movie has already generated enormous buzz even before any promotional effort. The public is waiting keenly for advance bookings to start, which will officially commence from April 4 at 8:02 PM. The 2 hours and 18 minutes long movie has its fans looking forward to its action scenes, even as there are some who are worried about the poor publicity.

High Demand for Advance Bookings
Though promotional activities have been low-key, there are speculations that paid premieres will be held one day prior to the release date, generating more hype. In Tamil Nadu, where Ajith has a huge following, preliminary indicators indicate huge interest in places like Chennai, Coimbatore, and Madurai. Ticketing sites such as BookMyShow have already witnessed more than 57.3K fans showing interest. Multiplexes and single screens are getting ready for a deluge, especially for top formats such as IMAX and Dolby Atmos, which will get sold out very fast.

Scope for a Huge Opening
Ajith’s last release, Vidaamuyarchi, earned a whopping ₹23 crore on day one in Tamil Nadu. Without any direct Tamil rival on April 10, Good Bad Ugly can easily see an even larger opening. It will still have to compete with other local releases, however, such as Mammootty’s Bazooka and two Telugu films, Jack and Jaat. Interestingly, both Jaat and Good Bad Ugly are made by Mythri Movie Makers, providing an interesting twist to the box office fight.

Box Office Expectations
If the initial word on advance bookings is robust, Good Bad Ugly might target a ₹30 crore+ opening in Tamil Nadu and potentially emerge as Ajith’s largest opener. The movie is also anticipated to do well in overseas markets such as the UAE and Malaysia, adding substantial amounts to its overseas collections
