Following the poor performance of Thangalaan, Chiyaan Vikram’s recent release, Veera Dheera Sooran, has been able to display some spark at the box office. Although the movie has not become a huge success, it has been moving consistently, garnering a decent collection in its 8-day extended opening weekend. The Kollywood action thriller has garnered ₹30.14 crore net within the Indian box office so far, giving the movie a ray of hope as it heads towards the second weekend.

The movie was slow to begin with, fetching ₹3.20 crore on opening day. Word of mouth and reviews did some good and increased earnings. Day 2 saw the movie earn ₹3.70 crore, and the movie continued to grow healthily on day 3 and day 4 with ₹5.50 crore and ₹6.75 crore, respectively. The Eid holiday on day 5 helped in a good collection of ₹4.50 crore.

But the film saw a marginal decline in revenue on day 6, with ₹2.75 crore, and another decline to ₹2.10 crore on day 7. On day 8, the film raked in around ₹1.64 crore, as per Sacnilk’s estimates. Even with these declines, Veera Dheera Sooran has still managed to rake in a total of ₹30.14 crore in its extended opening week.
Veera Dheera Sooran Targets Cobra
With ₹30.14 crore earned so far, Veera Dheera Sooran has the potential to cross Cobra (₹43.47 crore) and avoid being Vikram’s lowest-grossing post-COVID release. His post-COVID releases are Ponniyin Selvan (₹266.70 crore), Ponniyin Selvan 2 (₹182 crore), Thangalaan (₹46.15 crore), and Cobra (₹43.47 crore). Veera Dheera Sooran has the potential to cross Cobra with only ₹13.34 crore more.
