The laughter is set to return as Chumbak Part 2 is all set to premiere on October 1. After introducing audiences to its quirky characters, family relationships and everyday humour, the show returns with another chapter filled with the chaos of Chumbak colony.
One of the key characters in the series is Gulshan Taraporewala, played by Delnaaz Irani. Gulshan is an overprotective and opinionated mother who is also warm and caring. Her love for her son Freddy often puts her in situations that lead to funny and unexpected moments.
Delnaaz is known for her comic timing and the warmth she brings to her characters. Her performances in Yes Boss and Kal Ho Naa Ho, along with her work across television, films and the OTT space, have helped her connect with audiences over the years. As Gulshan, she brings a familiar and natural quality to the role.
A major part of Gulshan’s character is her Parsi identity. Delnaaz has paid attention to the character’s mannerisms, appearance, clothes and Hindi delivery. These details help give Gulshan a distinct personality without making the character feel exaggerated.
Her interactions with the rest of the cast also add to the humour in the show. Whether Gulshan is worrying about Freddy, getting involved in family matters or reacting to the situations around her, her presence often adds another layer of comedy to the story.
At the same time, Gulshan is not only about jokes and family chaos. The character also has a caring and emotional side. She genuinely worries about the people close to her and often gets involved because she wants things to be right for her family.
This mix of humour, affection and strong opinions is an important part of Gulshan’s character. It also gives Delnaaz the opportunity to play a mother who can be funny in one moment and caring in the next.
With Chumbak Part 2 arriving on October 1, Delnaaz Irani returns as Gulshan along with the Chumbak colony. The new chapter will continue to explore the characters, their relationships, misunderstandings and the everyday situations that bring comedy into their lives.
