Netflix is set to release its latest romantic drama, The Royals, on May 9, starring Bhumi Pednekar, Ishaan Khatter, and the legendary Zeenat Aman. Directed by Priyanka Ghose and Nupur Asthana and written by Neha Veena Sharma, the series blends regal heritage with modern ambition. The project is produced by Pritish Nandy Communications and features a stellar ensemble cast including Sakshi Tanwar, Nora Fatehi, Dino Morea, Milind Soman, Chunky Panday, and more.

Love in the Age of Boardrooms and Palaces
Bhumi Pednekar plays Sophia Shekhar, a strong-willed and driven CEO of a company called Work Potato. Ishaan Khatter takes on the role of Aviraaj Singh, a carefree and charming royal. The story explores the sparks that fly when their very different worlds collide. As the creators Rangita and Ishita Pritish Nandy explain, “The Royals is a romance that combines the old-world charm of Indian royalty with today’s fast-paced corporate world where love is anything but simple.”

Emotional Chaos Meets Regal Charm
The creators tease a passionate, emotional, and humorous ride as these two fiery characters clash, challenge each other, and unexpectedly fall in love amidst the chaos. Netflix India’s series head Tanya Bami shared, “With The Royals, we’ve created a modern-day romance with all the sizzle of Bridgerton and the flair of Emily in Paris—but with a uniquely Indian soul.”
