Prime Video has released the trailer of its upcoming Telugu Original series Jagamae Sangeetham. The eight episode musical drama explores family, tradition, love and self discovery, with Carnatic music playing an important role in the story. Created and directed by Palnati Surya Pratap, the series is produced by Sushmita Konidela under the banner of Gold Box Entertainment. The show is inspired by Prime Video’s Hindi Original series Bandish Bandits, while presenting its own story around Carnatic music and family relationships.
The story is set in the temple town of Vaikuntapuram, where music is closely connected to family identity and tradition. At the centre of the story is Balu, the talented grandson of a respected musician named Shastri Garu. Balu comes from a well known musical family and is expected to continue its long standing tradition. However, he also wants to discover his own identity and find his own voice.
The other central character is Pallavi, a successful pop star. Despite her popularity and fame, she wants to move away from the pressures that come with being a celebrity. She is looking for something more genuine and meaningful in her life.
Balu and Pallavi come from very different musical backgrounds, but their lives unexpectedly cross. Their meeting brings old rivalries back into focus, while hidden family secrets begin to come out. Their relationships are also tested as the story moves forward.
Music forms an important part of the series. Composer Vishal Chandrasekar has created the score by combining elements of traditional Carnatic music with contemporary sounds. The music is used to reflect the emotions of the characters and their connection with their families and traditions.
The cast includes Prakash Raj, Meka Srikanth, Madhubala, Akshay Lagusani and Sushmita Shetty in key roles. Suman, Sijju Menon, Shafi, Jhansi, Raghu Babu Yerra, Rocket Raghava, Nagi Jabardasth, Mirchi Kiran, Keshav Deepak, Priyanka Nalkari, Manik Reddy, Prachi Thaker and Roopa Lakshmi are also part of the ensemble.
The series is written by Vangala Surya Manoj, Shravani Samudrala and A.R. Prabhav. Jagamae Sangeetham will premiere exclusively on Prime Video on September 4, 2026, across India and more than 240 countries and territories. It will be available in Telugu with English subtitles and Tamil dubs.
