Jungle Tales with Mowgli is bringing back one of the most familiar characters from the jungle, Mowgli, in a new comedy series. The show will premiere on JioHotstar and Disney Channel on 12th September 2026, 2 PM. The series takes a light and funny approach to Mowgli’s adventures, with plenty of comic situations, chases and playful moments.
The story follows Mowgli as a curious and mischievous 10 year old who lives in the jungle and often gets himself into trouble. His adventurous nature leads him into different situations, creating the central humour of the series. Instead of focusing only on the serious side of the jungle story, Jungle Tales with Mowgli uses slapstick comedy and everyday situations to show Mowgli dealing with the characters and challenges around him.
The series also brings back several well known characters associated with Mowgli’s world. Baloo and Bagheera return as his friends, while Sherkhan, Kaa and Tabaqui appear as his rivals. Their interactions with Mowgli form an important part of the comedy and are expected to give the show a familiar feel for parents who grew up with these characters.
At the same time, the series introduces the characters to a new generation of young viewers. The combination of familiar faces and a simpler comedy driven format gives Jungle Tales with Mowgli a different take on the well known jungle story. Mowgli’s curiosity, his habit of getting into trouble and his interactions with both friends and rivals remain at the centre of the show.
Jungle Tales with Mowgli is part of JioStar’s Kids & Family content lineup and marks the network’s 16th indigenous title in the space. The network has previously built local kids entertainment around titles such as Motu Patlu, Chikoo Aur Bunty and Bittu Bahenebaaz.
With its focus on comedy and familiar jungle characters, the new series is aimed at children while also bringing back characters that are already known to many parents. Jungle Tales with Mowgli will be available on JioHotstar and Disney Channel from 12th September 2026, 2 PM.
