Netflix is bringing a new Tamil series titled #Love, starring Aishwarya Lekshmi and Arjun Das in the lead roles. The series follows two single dating app founders who spend their professional lives helping people find relationships while struggling to understand their own love lives. #Love is set to premiere on October 2 on Netflix.
Aishwarya Lekshmi plays Tara, the founder of a dating app called FOUND, which focuses on compatibility. Arjun Das plays Matthew, who runs another dating platform called Find My Bae and believes that chemistry is the key to finding the right partner. Although the two founders have different ideas about what makes a relationship work, their professional rivalry soon becomes more personal.
The story takes a turn when Tara makes Matthew an offer that he cannot refuse. The two decide to take a chance on a bet that puts their own beliefs about relationships to the test. What begins as a competition between two dating app founders slowly brings them face to face with questions they may have avoided in their personal lives.
The series explores the idea of finding love in a world where technology has become a major part of dating and relationships. Along with romance, the story looks at friendship, family, ambition and the challenges of understanding yourself. At the centre of the series is the question of whether chemistry or compatibility plays a bigger role in making love last.
#Love is showrun and produced by Soundarya Rajinikanth and directed by filmmaker Balaji Mohan. The series is written by Nirmal Williams, with Sharada Subramanian and Shweta Chakravarty serving as co writers. It is produced by May6 Entertainment Factory.
With Tara and Matthew approaching relationships from completely different perspectives, the series sets up a story around two people who are confident about helping others find love but are less certain about their own romantic lives. The October 2 premiere will introduce their journey and explore what happens when their professional ideas about love are put to a personal test.
