Netflix India is bringing back its popular anthology franchise Lust Stories with its third installment. Lust Stories 3 is scheduled to premiere on September 18 and will feature four separate stories about love, relationships, intimacy and emotions. The anthology will bring together filmmakers Vikramaditya Motwane, Kiran Rao, Shakun Batra and Vishal Bhardwaj, with each director presenting a story in their own style.
The four stories are expected to look at different sides of modern relationships. Instead of following one connected storyline, the anthology will present four individual narratives, allowing each filmmaker to explore emotions and personal relationships from a different point of view. The stories will touch upon themes such as love, desire, intimacy and feelings that people may often find difficult to express openly.
The film has been produced by RSVP and Flying Unicorn Entertainment. The ensemble cast includes several well known names from the Hindi film industry. Radhika Apte, Konkona Sen Sharma, Aditi Rao Hydari, Radhika Madan, Sana Thampi, Vijay Varma, Abhishek Banerjee, Siddharth, Ali Fazal and Gurfateh Pirzada are part of the project.
The combination of four directors and a large cast means that Lust Stories 3 will have four different stories under the same anthology. Each filmmaker will bring a separate approach to the subject, while the overall film will remain focused on relationships and the emotional experiences of its characters.
The Lust Stories franchise has previously featured stories from several prominent filmmakers and actors. The second installment was released on Netflix in 2023 and included segments directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, R Balki, Konkona Sen Sharma and Sujoy Ghosh.
With Lust Stories 3, the franchise returns with another set of independent stories. The project also marks the coming together of four directors with very different filmmaking styles.
Lust Stories 3 will premiere on September 18, exclusively on Netflix. The anthology will be available for viewers to watch through the streaming platform from its release date.
