Apple TV has released the official trailer for Nocturne, an upcoming crime drama starring Stephen Graham, Liev Schreiber and Zazie Beetz. The series is set to premiere on the streaming platform on October 30. The trailer introduces a mystery involving a series of killings in a small town in Western Pennsylvania and an imprisoned serial killer who may be connected to the case.
Stephen Graham plays Jurek Walter, an incarcerated serial killer who is suspected of having links to a number of killings taking place in the area. The investigation brings together former soldier turned detective Jonah Lynn, played by Liev Schreiber, and FBI Agent Saga Bauer, played by Zazie Beetz. Saga is described as Jonah’s surrogate daughter, and the two work together to understand the connection between the killings and Jurek.
The trailer focuses on the investigation as the characters try to uncover why the crimes are happening and how they may be connected to Walter. Although Walter is already behind bars, his presence remains central to the mystery. The investigation appears to move between the crimes in the small town and the questions surrounding the imprisoned killer.
Nocturne is based on two novels by Lars Kepler, Lazarus and The Sandman. Lars Kepler is the pen name used by Swedish authors Alexandra Coehlo Ahndoril and Alexander Ahndoril. The novels are part of a series featuring detective Joona Linna as the central character.
The television adaptation features an ensemble cast that also includes Bill Camp, Rory Culkin, Chrissy Metz, Poorna Jagannathan and Gary Carr, among others. Rowan Joffe has created the series and serves as a writer and showrunner alongside John Hlavin.
Joffe and Hlavin are also executive producers, with Liev Schreiber and Zazie Beetz among the other executive producers. A+E Studios is backing the series in association with Range Studios.
Nocturne will premiere on October 30 on Apple TV. The trailer sets up a crime investigation involving an imprisoned killer, a series of murders and a detective and FBI agent attempting to find the connection between them.
