Nandamuri Balakrishna’s upcoming action entertainer, which was earlier known as #NBK111, has officially been titled ‘Dada’. The makers have also confirmed that the film will release in theatres on December 24. Directed by Gopichand Malineni and produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under the Vriddhi Cinemas banner, the title was announced through a new poster and a title glimpse.
The poster introduces Balakrishna in a strong mass look. He is seen wearing sunglasses, a leather jacket and a thick gold chain while carrying a weapon on his shoulder. The look gives an idea about the kind of character he plays in the film. The title ‘Dada’ is connected to his character’s tough and intimidating personality.
The title glimpse further introduces the character and his attitude. It begins with a voiceover describing his power and presence while referring to him as “Sher”. The scene then shows police officers surrounding Balakrishna’s character. They warn him that they will shoot him in the chest, leading to a tense confrontation.
Balakrishna responds with a powerful dialogue questioning what it actually takes to pull the trigger. The moment establishes his character as someone who is not easily intimidated and sets up the action driven nature of the film.
Director Gopichand Malineni has presented Balakrishna in a larger than life mass avatar. S Thaman’s background score adds intensity to the sequence, while the ‘Raja Hoon Main’ track can also be heard playing in the background. The makers have described Balakrishna’s character as “The King Of Chaos”.
‘Dada’ is scheduled to arrive in theatres on December 24, placing its release ahead of the Christmas and New Year festivities. The film stars Manoj Manchu and Kajal Aggarwal in important roles alongside Balakrishna.
The project also marks the reunion of Balakrishna and Gopichand Malineni after their collaboration on “Veera Simha Reddy”. The technical team includes cinematographer Arvind S Kashyap, composer S Thaman, production designer AS Prakash and editor Navin Nooli. Sai Madhav Burra has written the dialogues, while Ram Lakshman, Ravi Varma and Vvenkat have worked on the action choreography.
