Allu Arjun and director Atlee recently released the poster of their much-awaited movie, and soon enough, the internet caught onto something suspiciously familiar. Soon enough, the fans were tweeting that the poster bears a surprising resemblance to the promotional poster for Dune, the 2021 sci-fi epic featuring Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya.
Striking Similarities to Dune Poster
The poster published by Sun Pictures, advertising the movie’s success on YouTube with more than 6 million views, is a desert-themed background, with comparable character arrangements and a general atmosphere similar to Dune’s signature visuals. The similarity has ignited an online controversy, with most opining that the design is greatly influenced by the Dune poster. If you notice closely, it is difficult to overlook the similarities, and one gets the feeling that the directors took direct cues from the science fiction movie.

Atlee’s History of Alleged Copying
This is not the first instance of director Atlee being accused of plagiarizing from another movie. He was accused of plagiarism in 2023 and explained that since creative work brings similarity to other stories, but not copying. Atlee was firm that he draws inspiration from a number of places, like MGR’s (Ramachandran) legendary songs and experimentation in films. He further stated that even big-time filmmakers like Shah Rukh Khan have been subject to similar complaints.
A Sci-Fi Action Thriller with High-Octane
The movie, which is being tentatively termed as AA 22 now, is likely to be a high-octane sci-fi action film with major support from Hollywood VFX houses. Regardless of the controversies over the poster, the buzz for the project continues unabated, assuring a thrilling cinematic ride for the fans.
