South Indian megastar Suriya has been mesmerizing the audiences again as his high-budget fantasy action movie, titled Kanguva, will be directed by the noted director Siva, who has directed Vedalam and Annaatthe. The film, which also marks the Tamil debuts of Bobby Deol as the antagonist and Disha Patani, is scheduled to hit the theatres on November 14th. When referred to as a ‘superstar’ at the event, Soorarai Pottru origin actor Suriya was quick to point out that Rajinikanth alone is the “Superstar.” He said, “I am not a superstar; Rajini sir is. There can only be one superstar, and it’s him.” In fact, fans also pointed out how he did get up from his seat every time the name of Rajinikanth cropped up, showing respect, thus strengthening their reasons of love for him more.

Kanguva is reportedly made on a budget of around ₹350 crores and is touted as one of the most ambitious films of Suriya. The film was announced to hit the screens on October 10, alongside Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan, but later the makers shifted its release to November 14 to avoid a box-office clash. With its big-ticket production and multi-lingual release, Kanguva is well-positioned to reach out to a pan-India audience piece and shapes up to be one of the biggest milestones in Suriya’s illustrious career.
