A Valley of Beauty Turned into Horror’: Asim Riaz Mourns Pahalgam T*rror Attack

In one of the most horrific terror attacks in recent years, 26 people were killed and several others injured when terrorists opened fire on a group of tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on Tuesday. The attack, which took place around 2:30 pm, targeted Hindu tourists after reportedly asking them about their religion. Among the deceased were a young Navy officer who had just gotten married, an Intelligence Bureau official shot in front of his wife, and two foreign nationals from the UAE and Nepal.

Asim Riaz and Devoleena React to the Tragedy
Model and former Bigg Boss contestant Asim Riaz, who hails from Kashmir, expressed deep sorrow over the incident. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he wrote,

“A valley of beauty turned into a scene of horror. Kashmir cries tonight, and so do we. Terror stole lives, futures, peace. I condemn this heinous act and pray for strength to those left behind.”

Television actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee shared a series of bold tweets, questioning the religious motives behind repeated terror attacks. She alleged that local support often aids such incidents and emphasized the need to call out religious extremism.

“Sirf touristo par goli nahi chalayee… Dharm pucha touristo ka pehle, Hindu hone par goli maari gayee,” she tweeted, demanding people to “have the courage to call a spade a spade.”

PM Modi Vows Justice
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was on an official visit to Saudi Arabia, cut his trip short and returned to India. “Those behind this heinous act will not be spared,” he posted on X. “Our resolve to fight terrorism is unshakable and only grows stronger.” The country remains united in grief, with calls for justice echoing from citizens and celebrities alike.
