In the recent episode of Bigg Boss 20, Rhiti Tiwari opened up about the pressure she faces because she is the daughter of actor and politician Manoj Tiwari. While speaking to her fellow contestant Mary Kom, Rhiti claimed that she receives death threats and rape threats because of her family background.
Rhiti explained that being the daughter of a well known public figure often means that people connect her views with those of her father. She said that her opinions can be different from Manoj Tiwari’s, but people often assume that she shares his views and target her because of him.
“Mere pe double pressure raha hai always. Mein jo bhi bolungi, ‘Manoj Tiwari ki beti ne yeh bol diya, woh aisi hai (I have always been under double pressure. Whatever I say, it will be like, ‘Manoj Tiwari’s daughter said this, she is like this),’” Rhiti said.
She then spoke about the serious threats she claims to have received because of her identity as Manoj Tiwari’s daughter.
“Mujhe death threats aate hai, rape threats aate hai, cause I am his daughter. Mera opinion log count karte hai ki unka hi opinion hoga, aur unke dum par sab mujhe chadate hai (I get death threats and rape threats because I am his daughter. People take my opinions as if they are his opinions, and they target me because of him),” she claimed.
Rhiti’s comments come after her father appeared with her during the Bigg Boss 20 premiere. During the premiere night, Salman Khan spoke to both of them and jokingly warned Rhiti about getting into arguments over food inside the house.
“Ghar ke andar, ande lo lekar kabhi fight nahi karna (Do not fight over eggs when inside the house),” Manoj told her.
Salman then added, “Ae baap pe mat jaana. (Don’t talk about my father),” which left Manoj smiling and covering his face. Rhiti followed the moment with a joke about her father, making both Salman and Manoj laugh.
For the unversed, Bigg Boss 20 premiered on September 6. Besides Rhiti, the season features Aasif Khan, Kanika Mann, ScoutOp (Tanmay Singh), Amrapali Dubey, Mahhi Vij, Yung DSA, Qazi Touqeer, Arishfa Khan, Rohed Khan, Isha Rikhi and Gullu (Kushal Tanwar), among others.
