Orry, also known as Orhan Awatramani, has responded to a social media controversy after a short clip from his recent media interaction went viral. Orry is currently participating in Khatron Ke Khiladi 15, where contestants are seen taking on dangerous stunts and sometimes choosing to stop because of fear.
During a recent interaction with the media, Orry was asked about contestants aborting their stunts. While answering the question, he used the word abortion, which led to a short portion of his response being widely shared online.
Orry said, “Maine kabhi abort nahi kiya aur main zindagi main kabhi abort… I don’t believe in abortion. Main karega hi nahi. Umm…” He then clarified that he had stopped only one electricity based stunt during the show.
“Sirf ek electricity stunt, jo group stunt tha, sirf voh hi maine bola abort,” he said.
Orry went on to explain why he decided to stop that particular stunt. According to him, his team had already lost the challenge and continuing would not have changed the result. “Hum log voh stunt already haar gaya tha,” Orry explained.
He also mentioned that Avika Gor had already gone beyond Karan Wahi’s timing during the task. Orry said, “We would have never won. So why should I sit here for 50 more shocks jo mere shareer ko kamzor banayega?” He explained that he had more challenges ahead and wanted to save his energy for the upcoming stunts.
However, a short clip of his interaction was shared on social media with references to his “views on abortion”. Several Instagram and Reddit users criticised Orry and described his comment as insensitive. One Reddit user also referred to his reported support for US President Donald Trump while discussing the controversy.
Orry later addressed the criticism on Reddit and explained that he was talking about stopping a stunt rather than discussing abortion. He wrote, “Talking about aborting a stunt but all the clowns here getting rage baited is a bonus.”
He also shared a screenshot of the discussion on his Instagram Story and criticised the way short clips can be used online. Orry added, “A brutal truth about social media right now: The people who edit and clip videos out of context to manufacture hate aren’t stupid- they’re calculating.”
He further said, “They know exactly which 4 seconds will trigger mass outrage. And the peanut people who share it without checking context aren’t necessarily stupid either- they’re just emotionally hijacked. Intentionally editing reality to spark real-world violence and havoc needs legal consequences. We are way past ‘it’s just content,'” the content creator concluded.
The controversy has therefore centred largely on the difference between the short viral clip and Orry’s longer explanation, with the latter making it clear that he was referring to aborting a stunt on Khatron Ke Khiladi 15.
