Television actress and former Bigg Boss OTT 3 winner Sana Makbul has been hospitalised just days after posting Eid celebration photos with her family. The happy snaps provided no clue of the medical emergency that was to ensue. But within hours, close pal Dr Aashna Kanchwala posted a photo of Sana from her hospital bed, gauging as weak. Accompanying the photo, Aashna wrote an emotional post: “My strongest Diva… I’m so proud of you for showing so much strength and resilience as you battle such a grave condition… Get well soon my love @divasana.”
A Long Health Battle Emerge
Though Sana has yet to comment publicly, those close to her suspect her sudden hospitalisation is linked to her ongoing autoimmune health issues. Earlier this year, the actress revealed in an interview that she has been suffering from autoimmune hepatitis a chronic condition in which the immune system mistakenly attacks the liver.

Talking to Bharti Singh’s podcast, Sana shares, “I am a patient diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis. It is 2020. It doesn’t have symptoms at all. In order to explain this, my body cells attack the organ in my case, the liver.” She emphasised the unpredictable nature of the condition, likening it to myositis, which fellow actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu is suffering from, although it affects muscles instead.
In spite of her fearless and cheerful demeanor in Bigg Boss OTT 3, Sana revealed that dealing with her condition has not been simple. “I take steroids, suppressants, or some medication. It’s a lifestyle disorder, but along with the autoimmune condition, the liver is finicky. My health keeps changing, and I don’t know if this can be treated fully,” she spoke frankly.
She also said that she has a vegan diet now to be able to control her condition better. “Many people don’t know, but I went vegan for health reasons,” Sana also emphasized, highlighting her efforts to enhance her health through changes in lifestyle.

The Cost of Social Media and Disinformation
In the same podcast, Bharti Singh and her husband Harsh shared how dangerous online medical misinformation is. Sana concurred, citing how confusing advice on the internet can create mental tension. “Social media plays with your mind. I keep having my bad days,” she admitted.
While fans wait for an official word, well-wishers in the entertainment industry are pouring out prayers for Sana Makbul’s quick recovery, praising her for her strength in adversity.
