From Sharad Kelkar to Mahesh Manjrekar: Celebs Who Played Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Nailed the Role

Chinmay Mandlekar has donned the role of Shivaji Maharaj in not one, but two of his own directorial ventures - the historical dramas Farzand and Fatteshikast. By portraying the iconic leader in his own films, Mandlekar has showcased his passion for bringing the legend of Shivaji Maharaj to life on the big screen. 

Veteran actor-director Mahesh Manjrekar delivered a memorable performance as Shivaji Maharaj in the Marathi film, Me Shivajiraje Bhosale Boltoy. Although he wasn't the lead actor, Manjrekar's portrayal of the legendary leader added depth to the movie, which starred Sachin Khedekar in the main role.

Prasad Oak made a remarkable impression with his unexpected portrayal of Shivaji Maharaj in his directorial debut, Hirkani. 

Rishab Shetty unveiled the first poster of his highly anticipated movie, "The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj", today, February 19, which also marks the 395th birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj . The film, set to release on January 21, 2027.

Sharad Kelkar delivered a standout performance as Shivaji Maharaj in the blockbuster film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. Starring alongside Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan, and Kajol, Kelkar brought gravity and depth to his portrayal of the legendary leader, winning over the hearts of audiences and critics alike with his impressive acting chops.
