Bazooka’s Box Office Blast Fades! Mammootty’s Thriller Sees Huge Drop on Day 6

Mammootty’s most awaited thriller Bazooka was among the most anticipated movies for the Vishu festival, which witnessed his comeback to the big screen after a long gap. Deeno Dennis directed the movie, which began on a good note on April 10, 2025, but has experienced a steady drop in box office collections. According to industry monitor Sacnilk, the Day 6 collections of the film have fallen below Rs 1 crore, a worrying sign for the action thriller.

Fading Collections and Average Reviews
On its opening day, Bazooka collected Rs 3.2 crore, then Rs 2.1 crore on Day 2 and Rs 3 crore on Day 3. The collections, however, began to decline thereafter, with Rs 1.7 crore on Day 4, Rs 1.49 crore on Day 5, and just Rs 0.82 crore on Day 6. The current worldwide collections are Rs 19.4 crore. Although the movie’s third act was complimented for its vigor, Bazooka has garnered mixed reviews generally. Although its opening was so good, the movie has had trouble sustaining its momentum, and the buzz slowly died down.

Competition from Other Releases
The movie has tough competition from other Vishu releases. Alappuzha Gymkhana, featuring Naslen, is ahead of Bazooka with more than Rs 30.5 crore in worldwide collections. The sports comedy received good word of mouth, especially from people outside Kerala. Maranamass, featuring Basil Joseph, is also doing well with Rs 10.58 crore in worldwide collections despite negative reviews.

Hopes for a Better Weekend
With the long weekend approaching, Bazooka is hoping to recover some of its lost ground. The film’s future box office performance will depend on how it fares during the extended break, especially with upcoming releases like Asif Ali’s Aabhyanthara Kuttavaali set to hit theaters on April 17, 2025.
