Sony LIV has dropped the highly awaited trailer for its new courtroom dramedy Court Kacheri, which will start streaming on August 13. Produced by TVF and helmed by Ruchir Arun, the show weaves together legal drama, satire, conflict between generations, and emotional depth—a compelling watch well beyond the usual courtroom stuff.
Where Law Meets Legacy
At the center of Court Kacheri is Param, a reluctant young man forced into the legal world by his father’s looming presence. Based in a small-town district court that is a whirlwind of chaos, the show examines how justice tends to be shaped by power rather than principle. Through Param’s experiences in a courtroom dominated by eccentric characters and morally ambiguous cases, he is brought face to face with whether he will reject his father’s legacy or remake it in his own image.
A Story of Tension and Change
The series is not merely about courtroom fights; it’s a multi-level story of identity, rebellion, and the weight of family obligations. Senior actor Pavan Malhotra, who essays the experienced and strict lawyer Harish Mathur, said, “Playing Harish was not a role—it was a reflection. Along with Pavan Malhotra, the series features Ashish Verma as Param, bringing to life a complex performance of a man torn between duty and desire.
