A Wacky Story from ‘Belgium of Bihar’
Directed by Sonam Nair, Dupahiya is a fictional village called Dhadakpur, which is ironically called the “Belgium of Bihar.” The plot is about a crime-free village that is on the verge of celebrating 25 years of peace—until something happens to turn everything topsy-turvy.
A Wedding, A Stolen Bike, and Absolute Mayhem
The just-out trailer sets up a promising premise. Only a week to a majestic wedding, and a brand-new motorbike—that was to be a wedding present—gets stolen. What then ensues is a mad, slapstick pursuit, spearheaded by the bride’s family and her former boyfriend, in an attempt to bring back the stolen ‘Dupahiya’ (two-wheeler). With the characters pursuing the mystery to its depths, the show peeks into small-town India’s aspirations and oddities while giving plenty of reasons to laugh.
A Star-Studded Cast and Promising Performances
Renuka Shahane acts as Pushplata, the feisty yet lovable sarpanch of Dhadakpur. Shivani Raghuvanshi, who was last seen in Made in Heaven, plays the role of Roshni Jha, the bride at the center of the storm. Bhuvan Arora, who plays Amavas, brings his own charm to the show. The show also has Sparsh Shrivastava and Yashpal Sharma, thus making it a power-packed cast.
Release Date and What to Expect
Dupahiya will debut on Prime Video on March 7. With a thrilling narrative, a mix of humor and heart, and a great cast, the show is going to be an absolute must-watch for those who enjoy light drama and small-town adventures.
