Ground Zero Review: A true story of the fight against terror that must reach the public

The entire country is filled with shock and anger due to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Meanwhile, Emraan Hashmi’s film Ground Zero, which tells the story of terrorism in Kashmir, has reached the audience. The film Ground Zero is a film that takes you from the beautiful valleys of Kashmir to the world of terror. This film is based on BSF Commandant Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey, who led the operation that killed terrorist Ghazi Baba. This mission is believed to be the best operation of BSF in the last 50 years.

The story of the film begins in Srinagar in the year 2001, when the terror of pistol gangs was prevailing in Srinagar. Young boys were being lured with money. They would suddenly come from behind and shoot BSF personnel. About 70 soldiers had sacrificed their lives and the terrorists used to send their messages through codes. Emraan Hashmi plays the role of BSF officer Narendra. In the film, Emraan Hashmi is given the responsibility of catching the mastermind of the pistol gang.

He believes that the real victory lies not in arresting the youth but in getting the guns released. Jaish-e-Mohammed attacks the Indian Parliament during the same time. Emraan Hashmi manages to reach Ghazi Baba with the help of his informer, but he manages to escape.

The story of the film is based on real events, which makes us feel that we are watching a realistic story. That is, the script of the film is well written. The screenplay of the film is tight and the dialogues suit the film. Emraan Hashmi has played the role of Narendra with great intensity. His hard work is reflected on screen. Emraan has portrayed Narendra’s state of mind very well. Dedication to work, transparency and patriotism have been portrayed well in his acting. Mukesh Tiwari and Zoya Hussain have also played their roles well.

The cinematographer of the film Ground Zero is Kamaljit Negi. He has brilliantly captured the beautiful valleys of Srinagar as well as the world of terrorism through his camera. Many scenes are captivating. The background score of the film is also good. Sai Tamhankar, who plays Narendra’s wife opposite Emraan Hashmi, leaves an impact even in a limited role. There are some shortcomings in the film Ground Zero. The operation to catch the villain after the interval could have been made a little more interesting.
