The 66th Cannes Film Festival will be very special for India. It’s the ‘guest country’ of the festival and a number of Indian films are part of various Cannes programmes this year. The opening ceremony of the festival on 15th May 2013 will witness illustrious Bollywood names like Amitabh Bachchan, whose film THE GREAT GATSBY opens the festival, and Vidya Balan, who is on the competition jury this year.

Sonam Kapoor, one of the most fashionable Bollywood stars and an ambassador of a well-known cosmetic brand, will join them on the red carpet, rubbing shoulders with some of the most celebrated names of world cinema. This will be the third Cannes appearance of Sonam and she is delighted about it. Having been a veteran of Cannes red carpet walk, she knows how to present her best side to the swarming paparazzi and she is already working on it.

She will be in Cannes on the 15th and 16th May and apart from the opening ceremony she will walk the red carpet on the 16th as well.
