It is confirmed. Deepika Padukone is pairing up with Ranbir Kapoor for the Imtiaz Ali film. Though there have been speculations around the leading lady for the Sajid Nadiadwala production, it can now be stated on record that she would be doing the film.

‘Yes, Deepika has given her nod of agreement. She would be beginning shoot of the film in mid-2014,’ confirms a close associate of the actress.
During last many months, there were multiple names being thrown around. While Katrina Kaif was said to be a frontrunner, even Alia Bhatt was apparently being considered. With Ranbir-Katrina relationship being very public, the pairing would have been very special. On the other hand Alia is already doing Nadiadwala’s HIGHWAY and she could have stepped into the film as well, what with her pairing with Ranbir turning out to be really fresh.
However given the current run that Deepika is enjoying coupled with select projects that she has planned for herself in months to come, this was the film that turned out to be the chosen one.
Tentatively titled WINDOW SEAT, an official announcement around Deepika’s inclusion in the film along with other cast and crew details would be made very soon.
