This week’s new releases, especially Himesh-Yo Yo’s THE XPOSE had two unlikely opponents. They were Hollywood’s GODZILLA and the much awaited election results. While the best opening was for GODZILLA, still a major chunk of the audience preferred to stay back and watch the Modi tsunami hit the nation.

GODZILLA and THE XPOSE |
Moving away from politics and coming back to the new films, and in particular the prominent release of the week, THE XPOSE, the film saw a dull start but witnessed a noticeable pick up during the latter shows. What augurs well for THE XPOSE is the reasonable 15 crore all involved cost, the recovery (at least!) of which should not be a problem.

As was apparent from the multiple releases of last week, it was just EROS’s HAWAA HAWAAI and the (fictional) biopic MASTRAM which saw a reasonable performance. While HAWAA HAWAAI netted 6 crore, MASTRAM managed 4 crore (both totals to be validated).
Concluding with Arjun-Alia’s 2 STATES, the film crossed 100 crore at the end of its fourth weekend and is likely to add a couple of crores more to its kitty.
