Kajol, the legendary Bollywood star, is all geared up to make a new foray in cinema, moving into the horror genre with her new film Maa. This mythological horror, which is set to take the audience on a thrilling ride, is releasing in theaters on June 27, 2025. The first look of the film was released on March 10, 2025, creating a buzz on social media.

The First Look and Teaser Poster
In the recently unveiled motion poster, Kajol’s character hugs her daughter in a protective hold, while displaying cuts and lacerations on their hands and faces. The image is complemented by an ominous background that speaks of a grand battle between good and evil. The haunting and powerful background music creates tension, leaving the audience curious about the story. The caption, “Hell is here… so is the Goddess! Battle begins on 27th June 2025,” alludes to an epic struggle between divine and dark forces.
A Fresh Approach to Horror
‘Maa’ is directed by Vishal Furia and scripted by Saiwyn Quadras. It is the story of an age-old war between good and evil, intense drama and suspense being at the center. Kajol will be seen playing the lead role of Maa, a goddess who has to battle evil forces to save her loved ones. Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, and Kherin Sharma will also be seen in important roles.
